So my husband is a disabled veteran with a prosthetic TMJ (jaw hinge joint). On Friday he had an old tooth that was pinned into a root canal come out that was about 20 years old. His dental insurance is the VA directly, which everyone knows is a HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE BY DESIGN to deal with. We were in kind of an emergency situation here! His normal dentist and most others are closed on Friday! The internet search actually spoke highly of veterans and elderly veterans having a good experience here. To get VA reimbursement we needed very specific paperwork which they accommodated easily and he was able to get in right away for an inspection, and then they had him come in the next morning on Saturday to remove the rest of the busted tooth. This is a tooth that was repaired when he was injured in Iraq 20 years ago. We had to pay cash up front and their price was reasonable. Because of his artificial TMJ he cannot move his jaw side to side and the opening distance is very limited. He also has extremely high dental anxiety and requires nitrous. They were accommodating in ALL facets of his experience! His CARE and COMFORT level is the most important part for me as his wife! HE'S BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH! He told me he wants to actually switch over to Value Smiles for his primary care for dentistry. Understand, I have read through many of the recent one-star reviews (and some from veterans) so hopefully we don't have any bad experiences, but on this kind of emergency situation we had a five-star experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ so THANK YOU Value Smiles for taking care of my husband!❤️

If I could I would give a zero. I am a veteran and was scheduled an appointment with Value Smiles through community care. I was scheduled at 1400hrs. (2 PM.) It was a short bit after 2 when I got called back at which time they did the X-rays needed. I waited in the chair for the better part of 30 to 40 min to see the dentist. I am going to need full implants or dentures. After seeing the dentist I was told I would need dentures on top and partial dentures on the bottom. I am missing almost as many teeth on bottom as top and felt like they were trying to milk the process and the VA for as much as possible. Seems to me having two or three teeth more on bottom than top several that are broken is grounds for a full top and partial bottom... I felt like the exam was half assed but all that aside when we were discussing a solution I told them i wanted either full implants or snap in dentures. I told them I'm not sure what the VA will approve but thats what I want to shoot for. I seen tge dentist he tells me I need a full top and partial bottom and then he leaves. The dental assistant was at the computer in the room apologizing about it taking so long but she is having to type up the paperwork and i say no problem as shes telling me something about their process had changed and she had to go discuss the paperwork with her boss. Here is where I have the real problem. The dental assistant went to the receptionist and began discussing my medical needs at the reception desk. My wife was in the waiting room and clearly heard her talking about what the VA would and wouldn't accept and when the receptionist asked what patient the dental assistant was referring to she said my name loud and clear for the whole lobby to over hear. The whole experience felt just wrong and the fact that the 2 employees broke hippa laws left a negative impression and after reading the reviews for this place helped me make the decision to not go back. I called the VA immediately after leaving Value Smiles and informed them I will not be going back. I will seek a new referral to a different dentist.

I was coming in as a new patient with a tooth that lost a filling and painful especially the last 2 weeks. I booked a consultation the front desk and tech were very nice. The tech took me back took a xray of said tooth and then we waited for the doctor to come check it out. He was nice and had looked at the tooth and said he was going to prescribe some antibiotics and something for pain which was fine, although I was hoping for a extraction I accepted having to take a antibiotic first. So I went back up front and they set my extraction for November 7th. So I took my prescription to Walmart waited to be filled went back to get it and the pharmacy said they couldn’t fill it because the prescription was not complete with directions of how many a day or for how long. So that being said they had notified the clinic and told them they needed a corrected prescription. I explained to the pharmacy they were going on vacation till Monday. So I got a second opinion and they were able to get my tooth extracted today. I was so relieved and grateful I didn’t have to wait until Monday to have the antibiotic prescription corrected.
