When Dr. Van Dyken sings, the sun comes out, rain or shine. He and his staff are worth the drill and their kindness is their virtue.

I put a request out there when I moved here on 2 Community Facebook pages for dentist recommendations. Van Dyken family dentistry had the most recommendations. I called and they were accepting new patients. I cannot even express how happy I am that I chose this dentist and that they were taking new patients. I am 70 years old and have lived in several places in the United States, so I have had many dentists in my time. The front desk staff is friendly, welcoming, and give good advice about payment options, and are funny too😁 Dr Scott Van Dyken is extremely kind and patient. I do have a little dental anxiety and he and both Dena and Tiffany, assistants that helped care for me over two visits, are wonderful. He is extremely patient and communicates every step of the way. He asks if we need to stop for a moment and lets you sit up. He is not opposed to medication if needed. He is extremely fast as well as very good at what he does. He's an artist! That probably comes from many years of experience and training under his father who was a dentist for a very long time. During the procedure, Dena would ask me first, and put balm on my lips to keep them from getting dry. I joked that it was Van Dyken dentistry and spa. You really feel pampered and cared for. I am extremely happy with my smile so far! I have a couple of visits to go, and I'm totally at ease about it. Just for an example, I broke an extremely large fillling out of a front tooth, and four more cavities were discovered in the area at my first visit. He had all of those feelings done and beautiful within an hour and fixed the shape of one of my extended teeth! 5 stars from me!

Words can not express my gratitude to the person that referred me to Van Dyken Family Dentistry! Dr. Royack was thorough, patient, methodical and kind. He and his hygienist spoke with me rather than “over” me and even though I asked a lot of questions not one time were they impatient or condescending. It was a new patient consult but I really think they went above and beyond in the exam. I left their office feeling informed not overwhelmed. I think that speaks a lot for who they are and how they operate as a team. As a former business owner of a service based business. I give them an A+++.

We see Dr. Julie at Van Dyken Family Dentistry and she’s amazing. Always friendly and funny. She is outstanding with our kids, too. We feel like family when we come in.

Van Dyken Family Dentistry is a general and family dental practice located at 606 East 8th Street in Port Angeles, Washington. The practice has served the local community since 1970, and among its restorative dentistry services it offers implant restoration for patients looking to replace missing teeth.
Because implant restoration is offered alongside a full range of general, cosmetic, and specialty dental services, patients considering dental implants can expect their care to be handled within the context of a family dental office rather than an implant-only specialty practice. The team also provides oral surgery and periodontal maintenance, which can be part of the broader process of preparing for and caring for dental implants.
The practice's clinical team includes Dr. Scott Van Dyken, who joined his father Martin Van Dyken's practice in 2000, and Dr. Gregory A. Royack, who completed dental school at the University of Washington in 2002. Patient testimonials on the website also mention a Dr. Julie, though no further detail about her role or credentials is provided.
