I want to give a “Thank You” to everyone at WHD-PC! The staff is always so welcoming and helpful each time I come in.
I’m very thankful to have found a place I can relax and know my dental health and concern will be addressed.
Thank you again for all you do!

The staff is friendly and personable. I have dental anxiety and this is one of the only practices I’ve ever felt super comfortable in. We have the entire family established here for basic dental and orthodontics as well. They do a great job with service and are easy to make appointments with.

I’ve been a patient at West Harbor Dental for nearly 10 years. Under prior ownership, the office felt patient-focused, fees were reasonable, and billing aligned with normal insurance allowable amounts.
The facility itself is beautiful. It’s extremely clean, the equipment is modern, and the clinical side of care is impressive. Dr. Sun has been my dentist, and I genuinely respect him. He’s skilled, professional, and someone I trusted. It truly saddens me to be leaving.
But the business side of this office has changed dramatically.
I carry Humana insurance that covers procedures like fillings at 100% with no caps — even out of network. My plan sets allowable limits. In the past, the office’s pricing stayed within those limits, which meant I owed little to nothing.
Recently, I had a cavity repaired. A few weeks later, when I returned for my cleaning, I was presented with a $62 balance for that filling. I explained that my insurance covers fillings at 100%. I was told, “Cavities are never 100% covered.” When they pulled up my benefits and saw that mine are in fact 100% covered, the explanation shifted to: “We’re corporate now. We don’t work with balances. It is what it is.”
During that same visit, I was given an estimate of nearly $500 before insurance for a cleaning, exam, and X-rays. When I asked how much insurance would cover, I was told they wouldn’t know until after everything was completed and submitted. In other words, agree to the charges first and find out what you owe later. That’s not transparency.
Years ago, they were even willing to send me to collections over a balance of just a few dollars instead of working with me.
This isn’t about $62. It’s about transparency, accountability, and how long-time patients are treated. When “we’re corporate now” becomes the explanation for inflexible billing, that says a lot.
It’s unfortunate, because the clinical care — especially from Dr. Sun — has been excellent. But the billing policies and lack of flexibility have made it impossible for me to continue here.
If you rely on insurance, especially out-of-network coverage, get written estimates and clear answers before agreeing to treatment.
I never thought I’d leave after 10 years — but here we are.

Just moved back to the area and needed to resume regular care. WHD was recommended through family members who are also patients.
Everyone, Dr. Sun, Hygienist Lisa, and entire support/assistant staff was amazing: Very friendly, welcoming & knowledgeable. The facility had an environment that makes you feel comfortable, even when some would find dentist experiences stressful. Even the examination chairs were oddly comfortable, with aftermarket memory foam pillows and all…which I don’t remember with my time in other offices. I would’ve been able to take a nap on it…had it not been for their timeliness and efficiency!
Bottom line: If you or someone you know is looking for a new dentist office, I highly recommend west harbor!

Dr Z and Andrea were a pleasure as always and did a phenomenal job with my filling! Answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable every step of the process.

In addition to implants, the practice also offers denture stabilization, in which implants are used to help secure dentures in place for a more stable fit.
