I had a great experience at West Shore Oral Surgery. All the staff were wonderful. They were friendly and made sure to take the time to explain things and make me feel comfortable. They got me right in when I was having some serious pain. Dr. Holland was fabulous! She made sure to walk me through the entire procedure and kept me calm during. Thank you so much. Highly recommend!!

You will have an absolutely outstanding experience! This oral surgery office goes above and beyond in every way. From the welcoming front desk to the knowledgeable clinical team, everyone is kind, professional, and genuinely cares about patient comfort. Dr. hollan explains everything thoroughly, makes youfeel at ease, and the procedure itself is smooth and efficient. The office is clean, well-organized, and runs on time. You can’t ask for better care and I would highly recommend this office to anyone needing oral surgery.

The female doctor came in very rudely about their billing practices, after my insurance carrier and their own front desk told me their office would participate with my insurance. Evidently they do not bill medical, and rather than explain that the office has changed hands, she charged into a lecture about how she has to make money because "It's a place of BUSINESS!" and she can't wait for insurance companies to pay her, etc... Again, I didn't even understand at that point that she was saying my insurance wouldn't be billed for surgery, because office staff said it would be when I scheduled the appt. She was acting like I was refusing to pay, and it felt very insulting. (She didn't look like an oral surgeon either...was dressed like she was about to go out on a hot date and I was holding her up.) The man who works with her eventually got a word in to explain, and he was understanding and handed me a list of other local surgeons to try, but her temperament is terrible and not worth it, if you even can afford to pay for surgery out of pocket. So you know, they do NOT take any medical insurance, only dental. Don't rely on their office staff to tell you. It almost seems like fraud to get someone in for a consult that dental insurance will reimburse them for, knowing you won't be able to come back for the surgery you're there to discuss. Total waste of time; I even drove 45 minutes each way to get there and wasted leave for work. If I could enter negative stars for this review, I would.

An extraction is not a pleasant thing. But I can say that the people at West Shore Oral Surgery made it as pleasant as it could be. Every person from the ladies at the front desk to Dr. Holland and her nurses were just the BEST! I felt heard and respected, unlike my experience with another local surgeon. I’m so happy I used this office and I’d recommend them to anyone…especially if you are fearful of dental procedures.

About West Shore Oral Surgery

West Shore Oral Surgery is an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice at 200 Cumberland Parkway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, serving patients from Harrisburg, Camp Hill, Lemoyne, Shiremanstown and the wider Susquehanna Valley. The practice's services center on dental implant placement, wisdom tooth removal, tooth extractions, bone grafting (including sinus lifts, ridge augmentation and socket preservation), oral pathology, non-surgical treatment for jaw joint pain, facial trauma care and emergency procedures. The office describes its approach as patient-centered, with personalized treatment plans and a focus on safety, clear communication and comfort.

For patients considering implants, the practice explains that implant treatment is a team effort: the oral surgeon performs any extractions, bone grafting and the implant surgery itself, while the patient's own dentist makes the final crown, bridge or denture. The site notes that single-stage implants can often be placed, sometimes at the same visit as a tooth extraction, and it outlines several implant-supported options for people missing all of their upper or lower teeth, including snap-on dentures, bar-retained overdentures and fixed screw-retained full-arch teeth. The office says it offers up-front cost information, in-network insurance participation, financing through CareCredit, extended hours on select days, and sedation options for anxious patients.
