I now understand why this office has perfect Google reviews. From the communication with Karen to the care and attention to detail provided by Lacee and Dr. Copeland, everything is top-notch. Can't forget Amelia too. If you care about your health, they are who you want taking care of you. While there are a couple of practices in town that use some biological dentistry practices, Dr. Copeland is the only one that is actually accredited by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology and is also the only one that is actually SMART certified, so you know you are getting the safest care that aligns with a holistic lifestyle. It's the complete package. Within a week of contacting the office, I was able to get a consultation appointment and a few days after that was able to get in to have my toxic mercury amalgam fillings swapped out. Everyone works very efficiently and treats you like a human being instead of just another number. It's not cheap, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. In this toxic world we live in, we have to be careful how we treat our own bodies—and who we allow to treat us. A holistic approach is the way to go and Dr. Copeland and staff are the ones you can trust to deliver it!

I am so pleased with my experience with Dr. Copeland and Lacee. It’s the first time in all my decades of seeing dentists that I felt that the medical staff really cared for me as a patient. They always took the time to explain procedures carefully and understandably. They took many notes and pictures. I was presented choices and alternatives. They followed up with texts and calls. To top it off, they made sure I was pain-free before during and after each procedure. Clear instructions post visit were given in a pack with extra attention given to homeopathic alternatives. I would definitely recommend Whole Health Dentistry to anybody seeking the best in dental care.

Dr. Copeland and everyone in her office is absolutely incredible, especially Lacie. They are warm, welcoming, and extraordinary at their jobs. You feel taken care of the moment you walk into the office; they put you at ease and before you know it, your dental procedure or cleaning/exam/x-rays are underway. I don’t think I have ever experienced a more skilled dentist than Dr. Copeland and I have had my fair share of dental work throughout life (for reference, I had braces on by age 8, I am now 41). Dr.Copeland is so skilled that when she goes to work on a cavity in a tooth, she will numb only that tooth and no others (most dentists will numb an entire area)- what that means for the patient, is that by the time you have checked out and reach your car, your mouth feels almost completely normal. You aren’t dealing with uncomfortable numbness for hours after. This is life changing. Also, she doesn’t hurt you by injecting your gums in a bunch of places before the procedure. I spent a large amount of my adult life in NYC frequenting the supposed best “cosmetic dentist in the city” and Dr. Copeland is not only just as good at this type of dentistry, she does it with less pain and a whole lot less toxins. She genuinely cares about the health of her patient’s whole body. I was in the office today because I have been on antibiotics for a bad sinus infection and my ENT wanted to make sure it wasn’t coming from my teeth. Just this morning, the ENT had looked in my nose and said it was gone; the x-rays this afternoon showed that it wasn’t totally gone- just hiding in the bottom third of the sinus. Even though it wasn’t coming from my teeth, Dr. Copeland took the time to assemble the x-rays and label them, put them in email form, and write a note so that the ENT could see the severity and figure out a plan of action. She went above and beyond what most dentists would do. She really cares about her patients and their wellbeing. Every person on her team has the best energy. She has skills and smarts few dentists today possess. What I mean to say is this: If you are lucky enough to get an appointment to become a patient of Dr. Copeland, run don’t walk. If they are packed, put yourself on that waitlist because sometimes the best care is truly worth waiting for.

Had a great experience. The staff was welcoming and professional from start to finish, and Dr. Copeland took the time to explain everything clearly, which really put me at ease. The appointment was efficient, thorough, and surprisingly comfortable. I really appreciated the attention to detail and genuine care. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and friendly dentist.

I came to Dr. Copeland and Whole Health Dentistry after meeting a patient of theirs who FLIES IN for appointments after moving away. I had been seeking a dentist I could trust my teeth with for a while and I ran in for an appointment after that endorsement. Dr. Copeland and her team have been nothing but competent, patient, informative, and gentle with me. My teeth are looking and feeling great. Highly recommended.

About Whole Health Dentistry
Whole Health Dentistry is a wholistic dental practice on State Street in Santa Barbara, California, led by Dr. Cynthia Copeland. The practice takes a biological approach to dentistry, treating oral health problems with the whole body in mind, and tests dental materials for biocompatibility so restorations suit each patient's individual biology. For patients missing teeth, the office provides dental implants, implant restoration, bone and sinus grafting, and All-on-4 full arch treatment, alongside a tooth preservation philosophy that favors conservative, minimally invasive care whenever a natural tooth can be saved.
Implant placement is supported by three dimensional cone beam imaging and X-Nav guided surgical navigation, which help plan and place implants with precision. The office also offers same day ceramic crowns made in house, a Solea dental laser that allows many procedures to be done without needles, ozone and prolozone therapy, and a safety protocol for removing old mercury fillings. Patients considering implants in the Santa Barbara area who want a practice focused on biocompatible, non toxic materials will find that emphasis throughout the practice's services at its downtown State Street office.
