He graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2005 and began his career in service, spending four years as a dentist in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) before his honorable discharge in 2009. He then practiced in the Dayton, Ohio area while his wife completed medical school, and two years later the couple returned to their home state of South Dakota, where he spent four years caring for patients in the state's correctional system and human services center. That experience shaped the practice he built next. Willow Creek Dental provides checkups, cleanings, restorative care, and tooth replacement for patients of all ages, with sedation options for patients who feel anxious about treatment. Dr. Dickes also treats patients other offices often cannot, including care delivered in a hospital setting for those who struggle with conventional dental care.
